You  find here a list with good restaurants. osterias and trattorias in the Cinque Terre. in Levanto. Bonassola and the surrounding villages.  Popular local specialities are Foccacia (salty yeast pastry) and house-made trofie (spaetzle like pasta) with the original ligurian pesto.  Sardines are served either deep fried. in oliveoil or raw. marinated in lemonjuice and garlic.  Try also gattafin - those are deep-fried pastry with herb filling.  Also yummy:  baked chicken with olives. house-made salami. baked vegetable. farinata (chickpea tortillas). vegetable cakes. cheese from the biological valley Val di Vara as well as wild boar and  mushroom dishes in the autumn.  And for dessert:  Tiramisù. Crostata (cake with jam). Panna cotta and loooots of ice-cream.

Bars

Here you'll find a list with good Cafés and Bars in the Cinque Terre. in Levanto. Bonassola and the surrounding villages.  Differently than in many other countries bar and a café are often the same in Italy - a meetingplace . part of the "village square" for the daily gossip and newspaper reading.  Thus in a Italian bar one drinks early in the morning a coffee. treats oneself later comfortably with a cappuccino and a sweet pastry at the small tables. enjoys in the early evening the aperitif with various small snacks and drinks. and at night a beer. a glas of wine or a cocktail.  Most bars offer also sandwiches and focaccia.  Short language guide:  If you order a "caffè". you will get what is known abroad as an "espresso":  a small cup of strong coffee without milk.  If you like a "normal" coffee. order a "caffè lungo" (diluted coffee without milk) or a cappuccino (coffee with milk foam).  The Italians know still numerous other variations - why don't you try a new version each day?  E.G. caffè macchiato. ristretto. Hag. marocchino. corretto. latte macchiato...

Italian fashion and shoes. local specialties and wines. cosmetics. antiques. beachwear and design:  In our region you can indulge yourself  in a shoppingsprre in countless shop.  You find here lists with good specialities stores. supermarkets. fashion shops and other sales rooms.  Treat yourself with a stroll throughe the coloful weekly markets.  You will find stores with fresh fish. fruit. vegetable. salami and cheese. dresses and handbags. toys. sun glasses. household appliances. flowers. asiatic decoration and all kinds of gadgets - you will almost certainly find a good buy.  Please note:  Bargaining is not usual in this area. also on the markets fixed prices apply.  The weekly market in Levanto takes place each Wednesday.  The weekly markets in Bonassola and Monterosso are held in each case on Thursday.  They are open from 8 to 12 o'clock.

Beach:  Dolcefarniente and basta...  perhaps looking for shells . building sandcastles. eating icecream or treat yourself to a massage on the beach. Also possible:  Aerobic. Spinning. bodybuilding in the fitnesscenters.  Bowling. tennis. dancing on one of the many beachparties.
